        [description] => This position is responsible for all aspects of design, manufacturing, and customer quality support for complex electromechanical and optical assemblies marketed to a variety of industries.  Responsible for reliability planning in new product development, assuring robust design through application of reliability tools and testing.  Responsibilities also include quality planning, assurance, and control throughout the product life cycle, including containment and corrective action for issues affecting customers in production. The person in this position will lead the continual improvement of product reliability and quality results through cross functional improvement ownership.
    
     
    
    Position Details:
    
    Lead the cross-functional Quality Improvement Team.
    Maintain and analyze customer return and failure rate data in depth and track Quality Metrics
    Review repair data for accuracy and determine root cause and CAPA trending with focus on Systemic improvements.
    Conduct internal Quality data analysis and support or facilitate purge or hold activity as required.
    Prepare for and present reportsto upper management and Customers.
    Lead the use of reliability tools and testing in product development process, Support reliability prediction, verification, validation, monitoring, and improvement throughout the product life cycle.
    Lead failure investigation and corrective action for customer related failures, and facilitate customer quality & reliability interactions.
    Establish customer relationships with quality and reliability representatives.
    Prepare, manage and conduct internal audit for regulatory compliance.
    
     
    
    Position Requirements:
    
    Cross-functional sustaining or design engineering experience in electromechanical and/or electro-optical assemblies.
    Bachelor’s degree in engineering or physics with 10 years minimum industry experience.
    Customer Quality interface, failure reports, 8-D. Excellent verbal / written communication, interpersonal, functional team building….. a Change agent.
    Experience in a regulated environment; experience in HazLoc certified products is a plus.
    Strong knowledge of and experience with reliability assessment and improvement methods.
    Understanding of accelerated reliability testing and use in the design process.
    Experience with design for reliability and manufacturability.
    Strong analytical and technical ability (a problem solver).
    Advanced skills with all MS Office Products, especially Excel and PowerPoint
    Strong and thorough knowledge of quality engineering discipline, including:
    Quality data collection, Pareto & data analysis / trending
    Statistical concepts and methods.
    Inspection methods & tools, mechanical and electrical
    Strong and thorough knowledge of quality improvement tools, including:
    Design quality tools, including D/PFMEA, DFX, Poke-yoke, New Product Introduction
    Statistical decision making methods including process capability analysis, MSA and DoE
    Continuous improvement and structured problem solving such as 8-D and Kepner - Tregoe
